6/17

The past few days I’ve been hanging out with some new friends. While I am sad to be separated from my friends from the beginning of the trip i’m very glad to have made new friends so easily. The community you find on the Camino is truly unique. People constantly have their hearts open to new people and experiences. So now I guess I have two Camino families - but I think that’s okay. Our accommodation tonight is a very nice albergue with extremely comfortable beds. I’m writing this from mine and it’s very cozy. I injured my ankle today (see picture) and I will take it easy tomorrow. I hired what’s called a donkey service to carry my bag to Logroño for 6 euro and I’ll walk the 20 miles or so with a day pack. If I need to, I can always call for a taxi but I think it’s good to try and walk it off. The doctor I saw game me a prescription for anti-inflammatory and I bought a wrap for my ankle. Tomorrow we will, as always, wake up early to beat the heat and finish the hike quickly.

Buen camino
