Last night I reconnected with some friends I started the Camino with, and also said goodbye again. To them, and also the new friends I made since leaving them. It’s sad to say goodbye to your “Camino Family” however I need to go at my own pace. Many of these pilgrims have time constraints and look to finish the Camino quickly, but I just want to take my time and really experience the country I’m in. Some of the people I was with said they didn’t plan on taking a single zero day and that simply doesn’t work for me. To each their own, but for me, I want to stop and smell the roses. What good does it do me to rush through this incredible experience, just for it to end sooner? I don’t mean to sound as if I’m judging anyone else’s Camino either, I honestly think everyone should do what’s right for themselves. Today I will find a spot to eat a delicious lunch, and taste as many different Riojas as I can. This region is famous for their wine and I intend to find the best one.

Buen Camino
